Two weeks before the finals we took some pictures of the projects. Its always an amazing day seeing all the prototypes in their full glory ...and this one wasn't any short of suprizes !
The prototypes looks already amazing and we can't wait to see the final presentation, don't miss it on monday the 6th in our orange hall.
For now have a sneak peek
this blog is dedicated to the Bucky Lab from the TU Delft faculty of Architecture. Within the mastercourse we design, develop and at the end build architecture and building construction related prototypes. Its a "get your hands dirty" approach in which the students learn how to translate concepts from sketch into working prototypes. We try to live the spirit of buckminster fuller: what ever you can imagine, you can also build!

Thanks to Luxigo
In need for a production technology, material or service we often get support from industrial partners or expert outside our faculty.
This time one group exceeded the use of a laser cutter and was supported by Luxido, the Delft based lasercutter service. On their website we found a nice project which could have also been made from the bucky lab and it seems this was done by our colleagues from industrial design.
Thanks to Luxigo for helping our students !

Bucky Lab Building weeks - Day 5.5
first of all a happy new year ! ...
While our regular building weeks went smoothly we also would like to share our Day 5.5. Due to complains of the neighbors of our rented facility we had to execute our attempts to cast aluminium on the weekend.
So here a few pictures of our first attempt...and while youtube tells us something different its not that easy to cast metals ...honestly melting metals is the easier part of the game, making the molds the more difficult part ...
here some impressions of our BBQ XL
we will keep you updated ...and never give up ...
