Building weeks Day1 - Code Red

Its this time of the year, gingerbread in every shop, the christmas tree in our faculty and warm chocolate and Oliebollen everywhere ...but next to the christmas atmosphere all around us we started our building weeks. Usually in the Netherlands its just a bit colder in the winter in comparison to the summer ...but very rarely the winter visits us ...actually we had code red - winter chaos so to speak ...

We did not found the time to take pictures of our students having fun in the snow, nor our lightvan drifting through the neighborhood but we were able to take a few pictures of the first day in the shop.

Inside it was a few degrees warmer then outside ...brrr...but warm coffee in infinite quantities warmed our bodies from the inside and Frans from festool was also able to get the heater running to warm up our kantine ...

After our intro in which we guided our students through the workshop in different stages we were already able to build a couple of new table frames. Worked smoothly and everybody seemed to have fun putting their hands on the tools.

Lets cross fingers that John from International Plywood is able to fight through the dutch winterwonderland tomorrow morning in order to deliver us our plywood ...lets keep fingers crossed.

For now we have to thank Frans and Hans from festool for their great intro.

Here some pictures of the day and a nice group picture of the crazy 72
